It’s good to have one or two series that if you are in a slump, you know you can rely on that. Preferably easier and shorter reads, like cozy mystery, urban fantasy or light novel. That way, if you are in a slump, can't decide on what to read or don't have that much energy and time, you can fallback to something familiar and easy to pick up. I used a few series for that until now: The Dresden Files, Witchcraft Mysteries by Juliet Blackwell, Konosuba, and now currently it's A Sister's All You Need - although I might change that to Durarara!. Or maybe you can even have a non-fiction book that doesn't need to be read in it's entirety, so every once in a while you go back to a chapter or two. For example: What If? by Randall Munroe or The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green. Having some larger books, like an epic fantasy trilogy does still help with choosing something (the analysis paralysis), but you might still not feel like committing to a big book, or not have the time or energy for it.
