One of the things I like of having physical media (LPs, CDs, Blu-Rays) is that I can look at the items, touch them, decide where to display it. And I get joy even in times when I'm watching TV and I see the record sleeve that's sitting beside my player. Like how recently I've been listening to the [[Records And CDs I Bought in Seoul]], and then every time I watch TV, I still see them there, remember this last vacation, and smile. ![[2025-05-31 Don't Stress That Much And Enjoy Your Things.jpeg]] Then I remembered some comment I saw on Reddit quite a while ago, and meant to someday write about it: > I'm not listening to anyone who sets their vinyls player up in front of a window.^[https://www.reddit.com/r/vinyljerk/comments/1i31qcc/comment/m7jgq5y/] And while that's sarcastic (It's a comment on r/vinyljerk), it reflects how many people stress too much about things. Yes, sunlight will fade the colors on record sleeves and books, but also on your clothes, sofa, EVERYTHING. Your records, books, figures, decorations, are to be used and displayed, and spark joy. There's no point in leaving them all stored in a basement protected from the sunlight and people's hands, if you don't look at them, if you don't use them.
